SyntaxMarket is built privacy-first. We collect the minimum information necessary to operate the platform and design our systems so that, even in the event of a breach, the data we hold has minimal value.
What we collect
- Account data: your username (display name) and email address, stored in readable form — we need them to operate your account and to enforce our ban system. Your password is stored only as an Argon2id hash: never in plaintext or any reversible form, and at no point can anyone — including administrators — view it.
- Licensing & orders: records of products you own, license keys, and payment-processor references — never your card numbers.
- Security signals: session and login metadata. IP addresses are stored only as keyed hashes for abuse prevention, not as raw values.
Hardware data — paid products only
When you download and use a paid product, you consent to the collection and storage of certain hardware identifiers from the device it runs on — such as a hardware ID (HWID) and comparable machine-fingerprint values — together with your username and email address. We use this data exclusively for license validation, fraud prevention, product security, and our ban system. It is stored on our servers, is never sold or shared for advertising, and is not collected by free products.
What we do not collect
We do not sell your data, run third-party advertising trackers, or store information we don't need. We separate authentication, licensing, billing, and analytics data to limit exposure.
Retention
Data is kept only as long as needed for the purpose it was collected, or as required by law. We support configurable retention with automatic deletion or anonymization of data that is no longer required.
Your rights
You can access, export, or delete your account data at any time from your dashboard, or by contacting support. Account deletion anonymizes personal data while preserving records we are legally required to keep.
